The incumbent in this position will be responsible for performing in-depth consumer finance loan portfolio analyses utilizing SAS. Will leverage custom-developed and/or generic scorecards (both application scores and behavior scores), credit bureau data, internal account master-files, and operational budgets (plans and actuals) to evaluate risks and assess opportunities. Will develop and improve the decision criteria used in the management of loan portfolios. Analyses may include but may not be limited to: - Credit Risk analysis and associated strategy development in areas of: setting credit application score cut-off, score band profitability, delinquency collections roll-rates and flow-rates, recoveries management, credit line increase/decrease programs. - Assessing growth opportunities - marketing spend and response analysis, new product / program viability analysis. - Recognizing information and patterns in data that are not obvious, and focusing analytical efforts in pursuit of explanations, isolations of cause and effect. - Utilizing Microsoft Office products as well as SAS graphics, must be able to take analytical findings, consolidate to key points, prepare reports and presentations of work, verbally present findings and make recommendations. - Working with the model development team to uncover and understand the functionality of business systems and the details of the resulting data for use in scorecard and strategy development and implementation. - Utilize project management skills to successfully self-manage coincident analytical assignments and track/report projects progress in a timely, concise and informative matter. REQUIRED Bachelors degree, PREFERRED Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Finance, Mathematics or similar related quantitative field. - 2+ years relevant consumer finance or credit card industry experience. - Computer programming skills must include 2+ years of hands-on coding experience in SAS, with ability to display proficiency in data management and manipulation skills in order to pass technical interview and perform job requirements. - Must possess a strong understanding of statistical tools, as well as the principles of cost/benefit analysis, risk management, marketing and operations and their application to consumer credit business. - Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, ability to present work in a formal and understandable format, bringing groups of people to consensus.
