JOB DESCRIPTION: Economic Planner: Economic Planner I/II Conduct demographic and economic research for regional planning in North Central Texas. Job duties require knowledge of urban development processes and basic social science research tools, customer service skills, competence using Windows-based spreadsheets, database, and word processing software in addition to strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree with a major concentration in urban planning, urban geography, economics, or a closely related area with a minimum of one years work experience. Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) is preferred and prior research experience with labor market and employment data. Starting salary is $2,501.83 for Economic Planner I and $2,983.67 for Economic Planner II per month, DOQ.
